My vacation in Austria + free travel wishlist

"You don´t have to travel far to find the greatest experiences life has to offer" - Jen Davies

I never understood why most people thought that a great summer holiday is only possible in the south of Europe, because Austria also offers such amazing places where you can spend a wonderful summer vacation, with lots of swimming, sunny summer days, good cocktails and much more.
Already as a little child I spent nearly every summer vacation in carinthia, at lake Klopein, because there had been a great hotel, which was perfect for small children and families. We always loved to stay there and had for sure been there more than 10 times. Sadly this hotel was sold some years ago and that´s the reason why we haven´t been there for about 5 years now.

But this year we decided to come back to our favourite lake for a short trip. There are many beautiful hotels around the lake with private beach areas, so everyone can find a place which is perfect for her/him. Lake Klopein is one of the warmest lakes in Austria, that´s only one of the reasons why I love this lake.

Afterwards we stayed 2 nights in a different part of Carinthia because we wanted to explore something new and also had some family things to do there. Our hotel was in the mountains- at Nassfeld. It is more of a winter/ skiing area, but in summer it is great for hiking, there is the Pressegger lake closely located and you can drive to Italy because it is nearly at the border of Austria-Italy.

I had a wonderful summer vacation, altough it was a little bit later in time than usually, but it was hot enough to go swimming, which was really important to me.

Autumn plans

Now I am looking forward to autumn, where I will be traveling to Linz in Upper Austria and stay there at a newly opened hotel- Star Inn Hotel Linz. The plans look so nice and comfy that I am totally excited to see how it looks in the end. That´s what the website says:

***Opening in September 2017 ***
The new Star Inn Hotel Linz Promenadengalerien will open its doors in September 2017. Located in the heart of Linz, only 200m from the “Mariendom”, the hotel is within easy reach from all directions. It is the perfect starting point for your day in Linz. 129 rooms of different categories equipped with modern amenities await you.
The European Capital of Culture 2009, also the “Unesco City of Media Arts” lives up to its slogan “Linz changes” Modern buildings blend attractively into baroque architecture and the picturesque landscape. The city centre combines a vibrant mix of shops, culinary options, attractions and cultural institutions. Hospitality is lived here and the famous “Linzer Torte” is probably the most popular ambassador for the city.
